Samsung has announced its breakthrough next-generation of RAM tech for mobile devices, which according to its report says can be used in all future smartphones , most probably towards the mid of 2022, While Samsung’s press release doesn’t mention how the LPDDR5X RAM chips could further help people to enter the “digital reality,” the tech should obviously help make devices run faster and last longer.

Samsung is promising some real improvements related to speed and power usage with its next generation chip: According to it the performance is now 1.3-times faster versus the previous-gen LPDDR5, and will be capable of higher densities (up to 64GB per chip), and will also use about 20 percent less power supply than the last generation. These improvements, according to Samsung, can be chalked up to the new 14nm process. Such lower power consuming RAM’s can also provide better performance to help AR and VR headsets with onboard processors.
